Guwahati, Oct 10: Two personal security officers (PSOs) of Assamese music legend Zubeen Garg—Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya—have been arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the singer’s death, police confirmed on Friday.
Both officers had been suspended earlier following revelations of large, unexplained financial transactions in their accounts. Investigators uncovered over Rs 1.1 crore in total, with Bora’s account showing around Rs 70 lakh and Baishya’s Rs 40–45 lakh—amounts far exceeding their known sources of income.
Sources indicate that Zubeen had entrusted his PSOs with money for charitable and social causes, which was reportedly stored and distributed through their accounts over the past four to five years. Bora and Baishy
