The Western College of Veterinary Medicine ((WCVM) at the University of Saskatchewan has upgraded equipment for cats, dogs and other companion animals needing cancer treatments

The college recently unveiled a new MRI providing high-resolution imaging for accurate diagnoses, while the linear accelerator delivers advanced radiation therapy for pets with cancer.

Stats show that about one-half of dogs and one-third of cats will get cancer in their lifetime.

President and Vice-Chancellor Peter Stoicheff says the advancement in technologies at the WCVM is a direct result of the ongoing generosity of our donor community. The project's total cost was $9.1 million, with donors from across the country covering more than half of the cost.
