All public schools in Winchester, Massachusetts, are closed Friday due to a chemical spill at the high school.
Superintendent Frank Hackett said in a message to the district Thursday night that they immediately contacted the fire department after discovering the spill in a storage cabinet in one of the chemistry prep rooms at Winchester High School that evening.

The Winchester Fire Department closed the building at 80 Skillings Road and called in a Hazmat team that was on site with the Department of Environmental Protection and the Winchester Health Department to coordinate containment and decontamination of the affected area, Hackett said.
