Fast food fans in Larkhall now have a new local option following the opening of the town’s new branch of McDonald’s. ‌

The 74-seat restaurant and drive-thru at Borland Drive opened to customers for the first time on Wednesday, with the company saying it has created 120 full- and part-time jobs in a “significant boost to the local economy”. ‌

It also includes a number of environmentally-friendly design features, including solar panels to generate on-site electricity, less glazing to reduce energy demand, and wall lettering made from recycled materials including used McDonald’s coffee grounds. ‌
