Stirling Albion defender Stewart Murdoch has left the club ahead of the weekend's match with Dundee B. ‌

The 34-year-old defender - who turned out for Dundee United, Ross County and East Fife in Scotland as well as Fleetwood Town and Northampton Town in England - made six appearances for the Binos after his summer signing. ‌

The club announced the news in a statement on Friday, saying a promotion at Murdoch's place of work had left him unable to play on Saturdays. ‌

The statement praised the ex-Fifers skipper for his "experience, leadership, and professionalism" - and said he had become a "respected figure within the dressing room".
