Montreal police arson investigators will examine the grounds of a residence in the borough of St-Laurent after it was targeted by at least one arsonist early Friday.

Police were informed of the incident by a 911 call received around 1:15 a.m. reporting the start of a fire at a residence on Khalil-Gibran St. near Lebeau Blvd.

Officers found the fire had already gone out on its own and damage to the residence was minor.

A preliminary investigation suggests one or more suspects threw what police described as “an incendiary object” at the home before fleeing the scene. There were no injuries reported in connection with the incident.

Local surveillance cameras will be examined in an effort to track down those responsible, police said
