Bengaluru , Oct 10: In a progressive move aimed at promoting women’s health and workplace equality, the Karnataka government has approved menstrual leave for women employees, allowing them up to 12 sanctioned leaves annually.
Labour minister Santosh Lad announced the decision, calling it a landmark step toward ensuring dignity and flexibility for working women. “We have approved menstrual leave for women. It is one of the most progressive policies introduced by our government. Women can avail 12 sanctioned leaves in a year — either once a month or as they prefer according to their menstrual cycle,” he said.
The minister noted that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to understanding and supporting the multiple responsibilities
