LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - More than half of Kentucky’s children arrive in kindergarten unprepared, a statistic that has prompted Gov. Andy Beshear to champion universal pre-K access across the commonwealth.

“And that call for action is shared by so many because right now more than half of Kentucky’s children arrive in kindergarten not ready,” Beshear said.

In June, Beshear signed an executive order creating the Team Kentucky Pre-K for All Advisory Committee. The committee has spent months gathering input from parents and educators across the state to garner support.
