A 50-year-old man appeared in court Thursday on charges filed in connection with an explosion at his home in Wareham , the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office said in a statement.

Mark Halpin is charged with one count each of possession of explosives and secreting, throwing, launching, or placing of explosives. He was held on $10,000 cash bail, according to the statement.

If Halpin posts bail, he must wear a GPS monitor, remain in home confinement and not possess any weapons or incendiary devices.

Prosecutors had asked Halpin be detained, and later requested $75,000 cash bail.

On Oct. 3, Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s office, and local first responders, went to a home on Aunt Maryville Lane for a report of an explosion.
