NATURAL BRIDGE, Va. (WDBJ) - A new mode of transportation is enhancing access to one of Virginia’s most iconic landmarks-- the Natural Bridge.

For the first time since its opening in 2016, the Natural Bridge State Park is providing an environmentally friendly way to access the bridge. A new electric GEM shuttle was purchased through the generosity of the Rockbridge Community Health Foundation and the Friends of Natural Bridge State Park.

“It opens up the opportunity for people who have mobility challenges to see the Natural Bridge and walk along the path and experience nature, the fresh air, and just the beauty of walking along Cedar Creek trail,” said Friends of Natural Bridge State Park President, Craig Moore.
