PORTAGE, MI — Located in the northeast corner of the city, Lexington Green is one of the oldest parks in Portage’s system.
The 23-acre park at 4750 Pittsford Ave. officially reopens Friday, Oct. 10 after nearly a year and a half of renovation work, per a city press release.
Visitors are invited to attend the 10 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony and explore the park’s new features. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
Improvements began in May 2024, Portage spokesperson Mary Beth Block said. According to a city press release, the renovation was guided by resident input.
The project cost $1,424,700, Block said. Work was funded by a $500,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, plus a match from the city.
