KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI -- An elementary expansion, new roofing and classroom renovations are among district-wide improvements planned if voters approve a $31.8 million bond for Comstock Public Schools.

The bond to fund improvements to enhance the educational experience of students is on the Tuesday, Nov. 4 election ballot. The district enrolled 1,873 students in the 2024-25 school year, according to most recent state data.

The proposed improvements were developed by a Facilities Review Committee formed of community members, Superintendent Jeffrey Thoenes said.

“They did an evaluation form, noting what looked great, what was modernized and what still needed work, and then they prioritized each building’s needs,” Thoenes said.
