Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement that offers hope for lasting peace in the region. In the short term, the deal promises a ceasefire, the return of hostages, and the flow of aid to war-torn Gaza.
Earlier this week, U.S. Senator James Lankford was on the Senate Floor recognizing the two-year anniversary of Hamas's deadly October 7 attack on Israel. He expressed support for President Trump's 20-point peace plan, which, he said, is falling into place.
Family members of hostages, living and dead, were ecstatic at word that their loved ones would be coming home. Lankford said this is big, and not just for them.
"You have opportunity for the people in Gaza to start rebuilding, not under dictatorship of Hamas (it) is a big deal for their future," he said.
