KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI — A minivan driver “dozed off” and hit a box truck head-on, police said following a preliminary investigation.
It occurred around 7:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, on the 6400 BLK of East N Avenue, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office said.
After a preliminary investigation, police determined the driver of the minivan dozed off behind the wheel, crossed the centerline and struck the truck.
The truck rolled onto its side. The drivers of both vehicles had to be extricated from their vehicles.
They were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. At this time, alcohol is not suspected as being a factor, police said.
The crash happened on the border between Comstock and Pavilion townships.
