LAWRENCE, Mass. —
A woman died late Thursday after she was pinned by her SUV when she got out of it in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to check on an infant who was seated inside the vehicle.
The woman parked her Honda CR-V on Currier Street in Lawrence shortly after 11 p.m. and walked around the vehicle to tend to her infant child, officials said.
The victim tried to stop the vehicle when it began to roll backward and was pinned against another vehicle.
The woman, who was not identified, was taken to Lawrence General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The infant was also taken to the hospital, but was not injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
