TOWN OF GRATIOT, Wis. — An accident involving an overturned semi resulted in an hours-long blockage on STH 11 near the Town of Gratiot just before noon Thursday.
The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office reported that an 89-year-old woman from Stockton, Ill., was driving westbound on STH 11 when she turned in front of an eastbound semi while attempting to enter a residential driveway. Her vehicle was clipped by a 2013 Dodge during the incident.
The driver of the semi, a 59-year-old man from Darlington, spilled his load of corn after the crash.
According to law enforcement, minor injuries were reported. Both vehicles, which sustained severe damage, were towed from the scene.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reported that the scene was cleared around 3:17 p.m.
