HARTFORD, Conn. — An organization in Hartford is helping hundreds of people receive food, housing, and medical and behavioral health resources.

Hands on Hartford has been serving people in our community since 1969.

“We really focus on the basic needs that folks need, um, to make it, um, on a daily basis,” Executive director Janet Bermudez said. She says the demand to help those who are unhoused and or food insecure have increased.

Through its programs and partnerships, the non-profit is able to provide support for families as much as they can.One of the programs they offer is their community food pantry. “This helps me a lot coming over here for me and my son,” Sandy Gonzalez says.

“I got eggs. I got cosmetics,” she said.
