PHOENIX — A suspected DUI driver was arrested after a Phoenix police officer was struck by a vehicle early Friday morning in Phoenix.

Just before 1 a.m., an officer was driving in the area of 7th Avenue and Indian School Road when they were hit by a driver, officials said.

Police said the driver fled the scene following the incident.

The patrol officer suffered minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Additional officers who were called to the scene were able to find the suspected driver and took her into custody, police said. The woman was processed for DUI and booked.

The identity of the officer and the suspect has not been released.

This is an ongoing investigation.
