BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Sergio Venegas spent 30 years in prison after raping a woman in 1989.
Now Venegas, 62, faces life without parole for attempting to sexually assault a woman on Ming Avenue on a May night in 2022, dragging her behind buses and demanding she perform a sex act.
The woman managed to escape, and Venegas was arrested soon after.
His sentencing is set for Friday morning in front of Judge David Zulfa.
17 News will live blog the proceedings.
A jury last month found Venegas guilty of kidnapping, robbery and assault, among other charges.
