Boston Celtics great Paul Pierce was reportedly arrested on suspicion of DUI in Los Angeles this week.

The 47-year-old was shockingly found sleeping behind the wheel of his car on a Los Angeles freeway. Responding officers had already been called to investigate a multi-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of the 101 freeway.

While investigating the accident, the officers noticed a Range Rover SUV stopped in one of the lanes on the freeway south of the crash.

That is where police noticed Pierce appearing to be asleep at the wheel. Once he was woken up, officers claimed they saw signs of impairment from Pierce and began a DUI investigation.

Paul Pierce was arrested under suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
