IOWA (KCAU) — Birds are on the move across our viewing area this time of year and there are ways you can help them travel safely.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources claims an estimated 30 million birds traveled through Iowa on Oct. 6th. Warblers, sparrows and other feathered friends are taking flight across the state. Here are some simple, yet effective, ways you can lend a helping hand. • Turn off unnecessary outdoor lighting from 11 P.M. to 6 A.M. • Turn off unnecessary indoor lights during the overnight hours • Put stickers on your windows to make the glass more visible and reduce collisions • Keep your cats indoors
