Amid anger over a series of “street takeovers” in Boston and several cities and towns in Eastern Massachusetts over the weekend, Governor Maura Healey said the state has “zero tolerance” for the disorderly car events and directed the State Police to assist local law enforcement “to identify, apprehend, and punish offenders.”
Healey warned that participants will be prosecuted.
“If you do it, we’re going to find you and we will hold you accountable to the furthest extent of the law,” she said Wednesday at the State House.
Healey dismissed a question about whether she was concerned that President Trump would consider deploying the National Guard in Massachusetts, as he has done in other Democrat-leaning states and cities.
