RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police troopers seized more than $1.5 million worth of illegal narcotics and 15,000 fentanyl pills in just one week as part of its ongoing crime suppression initiative.

During the week of Wednesday, Oct. 1, to Tuesday, Oct. 7, the operation, which is in partnership with local and federal agencies, saw state troopers seize 23 firearms, valued at $13,000. In addition, police seized 185 pounds and 15,016 controlled substance pills, valued at $1,676,542.

The following is a breakdown of the recovered narcotics: • 12.7 pounds of cocaine • 6.9 pounds of crack cocaine • 163.2 pounds of marijuana • 4.9 ounces of heroin • 8.2 pounds pounds of methamphetamine • 2.2 ounces of fentanyl • 15,000 fentanyl pills • 16 Percocet pills • 25 THC vapes
