A 24-hour statewide Tripura Bandh has been called for October 23, 2024, in support of the demands related to the rights and protection of the indigenous Tiprasa people. The announcement was made by Tipra Motha MLA MLA Ranjit Debbarma during a press conference on Thursday.

Debbarma clarified that the bandh, which was initially planned for October 13, has now been rescheduled to October 23. He emphasized that although the bandh has been called for the greater interest of the Tiprasa community with the same demands of Tipra Motha, it is not officially linked to the TIPRA Motha party, he said.

During the press conference, a detailed Charter of Demands was also circulated, highlighting several key points, including:
