NORTH BUTLER, Iowa — Celsey Kelley, a student counselor at North Butler School District, was awarded a $500 grant from the Cedar Valley Tools for Schools program.

Kelley plans to use the funds to purchase sensory items such as chairs, a wobble board, and headphones. These items are intended to assist students with autism, ADHD, and other sensory disorders in focusing better and enhancing classroom benefits.

“There's a need for the sensory items and a lot of the things in my room I purchased myself," Kelley said. "So I would love to get a grant to be able to provide some of those items for students who need them."

The Tools for Schools program is a collaboration between KWWL and Green State Credit Union. Those interested in applying for the grant can visit the KWWL website for more inf
