One staff member and three talented students from Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) have achieved stellar success, literally.

Competing at the NASA Space Apps Challenge hackathon hosted at NorQuest College in Edmonton on October 4–5, the RDP team emerged as event winners.

The NASA Space Apps Challenge is a global hackathon that invites participants to collaborate on real-world challenges written by NASA experts.

Teams use NASA and partner agency data to develop creative, data-driven solutions to issues spanning software development, storytelling, astrophysics, space exploration, agriculture, and more.

The Winning Team consists of: • Akshun Chauhan – Former Computer Science student, now with the EIC • Yaksh Sharma – Computer Programming student • Jaren Wheeler – Computer Programming stud
