PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - A man was arrested on drug and gun charges after running from Paducah police on Wednesday evening, October 8.

Christian Smith, 18, of West Paducah, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon on school property, tampering with physical evidence, second-degree fleeing or evading police, possession of marijuana and second-degree disorderly conduct.

According to Paducah police, at around 5:09 p.m., an officer saw the driver of a silver passenger car make a “moving violation” in the 2800 block of Trimble Street and park in a business’s parking lot.

The driver, later identified as Smith, went into the store briefly before walking away and leaving the vehicle.

Officers tried to talk with Smith as he walked away, but they said he ran away.
