Buckle up: There's a new nonstop flight coming to the Indianapolis International Airport.

Southwest Airlines announced Oct. 10 it would be launching a seasonal summer nonstop flight to and from San Juan, Puerto Rico, in summer 2026. The flights will operate once every Saturday from June 6 to August 1, 2026.

The flights will be the first nonstops ever offered between the IND airport and the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan.

The Puerto Rican city is one of the top three most traveled to destinations that Indianapolis currently does not serve, according to Marsha Wurster, Indianapolis Airport Authority senior director of commercial enterprise. The IAA has seen year-round demand for travel options to San Juan, Wurster added.
