PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Former Coventry town councilor Robert Delellis appeared in court today for his arraignment on a DUI charge.
According to Rhode Island State Police, on September 24, Delellis was driving under the influence when he was stopped in East Greenwich .
He was pulled over on the New London Turnpike, and refused a breathalyzer test.
Delellis resigned from his position on the council after being charged and only a month after he was first elected to the council in a special election.
His next appearance in court will be on October 23.
