The panchayati raj elections in Himachal Pradesh have not been cancelled and would be held once road connectivity is restored, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Friday said even as he slammed the BJP for “opposing everything” just for the sake of opposition.

“The immediate focus of the government is on disaster management and rehabilitation of affected families. Panchayat elections will definitely be held as soon as the roads to all panchayats are restored. The elections can be held till January 23 next year,” Sukhu said.
