SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A Sioux City man found guilty of killing his girlfriend has received a decades-long prison sentence and is expected to go to trial for a firearm charge.

On Friday, Oct. 10, Edmund Pendleton received 50 years in prison for second-degree murder. Back in August, a jury found the 39-year-old man guilty of killing 46-year-old Danielle Lynn Dolan.

Pendleton was initially charged with first-degree murder, which has a mandatory sentencing of life in prison, but the jury found him guilty of a lesser charge.

Following his trial, Pendleton pleaded guilty to one count of felon in possession of a firearm, an additional charge connected to the fatal shooting of Dolan. As part of that plea agreement, he would have served 15 years for this charge. It would have been served concurr
