SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Ricardo Ramirez pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder.

On Friday, Sept. 26, 32-year-old Narcisse J. Wood Jr. was fatally stabbed in the 600 block of 14th Street in Sioux City.

Sioux City Police arrested 27-year-old Ricardo Ramirez in connection with the homicide.

According to court documents, surveillance video shows Ramirez pull out a knife and stab Wood in the chest. Ramirez then ran from the area.

Ramirez pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, a class A felony. Under Iowa law, those convicted of first-degree murder are sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

His jury trial is scheduled for March 31, 2026.
