FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A man who broke into a stranger's house, sprayed him with Mace and stole multiple cell phones was sentenced Friday.

Derrick Baker was handed a 50-year prison sentence, according to the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.

The 53-year-old was convicted of his role in a burglary from April 2023. According to Allen Superior Court documents, investigators with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a local gas station where a man went for help after being pepper sprayed. Baker was running away down the street, according to court documents, but police caught up with him.
