One man was arrested as the result of a police operation on Cabot Street in St. John’s yesterday.

The incident resulted in a shelter-in place in the area for a period of time while police investigated.

Acting on a complaint about weapons, the RNC determined that multiple people inside the home in question may have been armed.

The area was contained, and around 9:40 yesterday morning police took 48-year-old Kenneth Clancey into custody.

Clancey is facing several charges including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

RNC say at this time there is no indication that a firearm was discharged or that there were any injuries.

The investigation continues, and anyone with information or video footage is asked to call the RNC
