The NLMA has written each of the provincial party leaders seeking answers on where they stand on a number of health care matters.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association is seeking commitments from each of the party leaders to ensure that a number of issues, which it says reflect the evolving needs of the medical workforce, are front and center in policy discussions.
Among the issues they want to see addressed are ensuring that the Janeway remain a dedicated pediatric hospital, and a clear commitment that adult services will not encroach on the Janeway.
The NLMA wants the leaders to commit to upholding national compensation standards to attract and retain physicians, improve the work environment within NL Health Services, and ensure universal access to family physicians so tha
