A Chatsworth man has been found guilty on several counts of child sex abuse charges and could face up to life imprisonment.

A Murray County jury found Norman Baity guilty of the following charges on October 8 after a two-day trial:

Aggravated sodomy

Aggravated child molestation

Child molestation (x10)

Baity faces a maximum sentence of 20 years per child molestation conviction. For his other charges, he faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

Evidence presented at trial showed that Baity was babysitting the two victims while the children's parents were shopping in December of 2024.

The children told their parents that Baity had "engaged in immoral and indecent acts" when their parents returned home. Baity admitted to sexual acts with the five-year-old in front of the six-year-
