EFD provides update on apartment fire that displaced dozens

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Evansville Fire Department has new information on the apartment fire that left 26 people temporarily without a place to stay.

Due to substantial damage and the inability to rule out other potential causes, investigators say they were unable to determine what started the fire at Cross Lake Apartments.

That fire erupted at the apartments on Biltmore Way earlier this week.

Officials say they were able to get that fire under control in less than an hour.

Red Cross officials deployed ‘Disaster Action’ volunteers to the complex, where they helped over a dozen on scene.
