HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The Huntington Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau says they’ve been investigating a reported sexual assault of a juvenile for the last several weeks.

The incident was reported in early September after a juvenile was assaulted by a family friend at a residence in the 2700 block of 4th Avenue, detectives said.

On October 6, detectives filed a criminal complaint against Mark Purtee, 52, of Huntington, with first-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 12, according to detectives.

Detectives said on the same day they requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service in locating Purtee as credible information suspected his location to be in or near Marion County, Ohio.

On October 9, Purtee was found by the U.S. Marshals Service in Marion
