N.C. Rep. Cecil Brockman had been living for months with the teen he's accused of sexually assaulting, according to statements by the Guilford County District Attorney's Office during a hearing Friday.
Brockman, 41, has been charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of statutory rape of minors aged 13 through 15, according to jail records.
The indecent liberties charges Brockman faces involve minors younger than 16. The offenses took place on Aug. 15, according to an arrest warrant.
Brockman appeared by video from the hospital he was taken to on Thursday after suffering a medical issue.
Brockman said he would hire his own attorney.
