HIGH POINT, N.C. — A member of the North Carolina General Assembly was arrested on Wednesday for child sex crimes, according to arrest records.

North Carolina Representative Cecil Brockman , 41, who represents Guilford County, was arrested and charged with two counts of statutory sex offense with a child 15 or younger and two counts of indecent liberties with a child. The Guilford County Sheriff's Office arrested him on Oct. 8.

He is being held without bond.

“The North Carolina Democratic Party calls on Representative Brockman to immediately resign. The profound seriousness of these criminal charges makes it impossible for him to effectively represent his community.”
