A man convicted of assaulting and abusing his ex-girlfriend who later killed herself is due to appear in court accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Ryan Wellings, 31, is due to appear before magistrates alongside his mother and girlfriend, who are accused of the same offence.

Wellings was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison after being convicted of assaulting and coercing his partner Kiena Dawes.

She tragically died on a railway line in Lancashire in 2022. Wellings is due in court later this mother with his mother Lisa Green, 52, and girlfriend Emma Croft, 28.
