A former firefighter has been sentenced to 15 months in jail after police found dozens of images of children being sexually abused on his phone.
Matthew Shaw, 28, was led into a holding cell in Edmonton Court of King’s Bench Friday after pleading guilty to a single count of possession of child pornography.
A former firefighter with Parkland County Fire Services, Shaw was arrested at his parents’ home on June 5, 2024. He came to police attention the previous October when Snapchat reported an image of a young girl being raped uploaded to its platform.
