A male juvenile has been arrested and faces murder and assault charges in connection to the Oct. 4 mass shooting , Montgomery police said Friday afternoon.

In all, the shooting killed at least two people and injured 12. The two victims were 17-year-old Jeremiah Morris , a student at McIntyre Comprehensive Academy, and 43-year-old Shalanda Williams. Of the injured in the Oct. 4 shooting, seven of the victims were under the age of 20, with the youngest victim being just 16 years old. Five had life-threatening injuries and seven had non-life-threatening injuries.

Montgomery Police Department Lt. Tina McGriff said that MPD took a juvenile male into custody Oct. 10 in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with one count of capital murder, nine counts of assault in the first de
