EUGENE, Ore. - Seven people suspected of targeting Asian-American families in the Eugene area have been apprehended, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said this comes after a chaotic scene late Thursday night that prompted a shelter-in-place order for several hours. The arrests followed a search warrant served on the 2400 block of Skyline Boulevard. Eugene Police Chief Skinner explained that during a city council meeting about pausing Flock license plate reading cameras, one of those cameras captured a plate that led to the search warrant. The shelter-in-place order was issued because the seven suspects were fleeing, Skinner said.
