KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — A 56-year-old man was arrested in Kernersville after allegedly driving from Virginia to meet who he believed was a juvenile for sexual activity following an undercover online investigation, police said.

The Kernersville Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division began the operation on Sept. 26. During the investigation, Joe Wesley Bray Jr. reportedly engaged in online conversations with an individual he believed to be a minor.

On Oct. 9, Bray traveled from Virginia to Kernersville to meet the supposed juvenile, where officers took him into custody without incident, police said.

Bray was charged with solicitation of a child by computer and appearing at the meeting location. He was issued a $50,000 bond.
