ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — An Efland man is in jail after allegedly fleeing from Alamance County deputies during a traffic stop Thursday night, authorities said.

Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle with an illegible paper license tag around 10:32 p.m. Oct. 9 on North Graham-Hopedale Road near Burlington, according to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, later identified as 27-year-old Isaiah Laczar Long, refused to stop and drove recklessly, crossing the center line and running stoplights and stop signs.

Deputies said the chase ended on Hazel Drive in Burlington, where the vehicle began to slow before Long got out and ran toward a wooded area. He was apprehended after a brief foot chase.
