KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Federal and state government employees in Tennessee whose jobs were impacted by the federal government shutdown can file for Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits.

Anyone who is unemployed and available to work is eligible to receive UI benefits as long as all other eligibility requirements are met. Officials said this could include federal and state employees furloughed due to the shutdown.
