CLEVELAND, Ohio — Gov. Mike DeWine’s actions will force hundreds of Cleveland retailers to pull intoxicating hemp products off the shelves Tuesday — and city officials are celebrating it as a win.
Mayor Justin Bibb and Cleveland City Council have been locked in a battle against the proliferation of smoking and smoke shops — the stores known for selling vapes and cannabis products like CBD or delta-8. Cleveland’s Health Director David Margolius said DeWine’s emergency health order temporarily banning these marijuana-like products was a huge boon to the city.
“Governor DeWine is looking out for children in our community with this decision,” Margolius said.
