ORANGE, Ohio -- Rebecca Boyle wasn’t going to run for re-election to the Orange Board of Education.

She is completing her second four-year term, and her two children have graduated from Orange High School.

“But then the attacks on public education started,” she said at a Meet the Candidates forum Thursday (Oct. 9) at Village Hall.

“So I decided that I want to stay and I want to fight.”

Boyle is one of four candidates, including two incumbents, vying for three seats on the Orange school board in the Nov. 4 election.

All four candidates spoke and answered questions submitted by residents in advance at the forum, attended by about 30 people.

It was moderated by Barbara Greenberg, a magistrate of Bedford Municipal Court and a former 45-year resident of Orange.
