NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Over $100 million will soon go toward several major mobility projects across the Metro Nashville area, including along Nolensville and Gallatin pikes.
Mayor Freddie O'Connell said the goal is to improve the daily life of people on the roads. Since his first day in office, O'Connell has pushed for better transportation in Nashville, and this $100 million investment will touch several needs in the east and south portions of the city.
The next round of funding for the "Choose How You Move" plan will advance work on Nolensville Pike, which is one of the city's most critical North to South routes, and Gallatin Pike, which will see upgrades from downtown Nashville to Madison.
Leaders of the project said some of these roads haven't seen upgrades in half a century.
